NEWS ROUNDUP

DEVELOPMENT: Tulane plans apartment-style housing project near campus. Tulane University is planning a new apartment-style housing development that is expected to open in fall 2027 and house about 160 students in 39 units, including a mix of undergraduate and graduate students. Patrick Norton, Tulane’s senior vice president and chief operating officer, said the project is meant to align student housing needs with neighborhood priorities, while Sarah Cunningham, Tulane’s vice president of student affairs, said it marks another step in the university’s effort to support students through a strong living and learning environment. The development will be built and owned by RCR Claiborne Venture, led by the Robért Fresh Market family and RCR Ventures.

DEVELOPMENT: SUNY Cortland plans new 220-bed residence hall. SUNY Cortland is planning to break ground this summer on a new four-story residence hall that will add about 220 apartment-style beds. Construction is tentatively expected to begin in August and continue through May 2028, with the building slated to open for students in fall 2028.

PEOPLE MOVES: ACC names VP. American Campus Communities has appointed Chelsea Bennett as vice president of public-private partnerships and business development. Bennett joins the Austin-based student housing company with nearly 15 years of experience in higher education. Before joining ACC, she served as vice president of advisory services at The Scion Group.

PEOPLE MOVES: LV Collective promotes new President and CIO. LV Collective has promoted Jonathan Reyes to president and Christopher Kott to chief investment officer as the Austin-based firm expands its leadership team. Founder and CEO David Kanne said both Reyes and Kott have played important roles in shaping the company’s growth and that the promotions reflect LV Collective’s momentum and long-term expansion plans.
