NEWS ROUNDUP

FINANCING: Article Student Living refinances 922-bed complex. Article Student Living has refinanced Identity Dinkytown, a 922-bed luxury student housing community in Minneapolis that serves the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, with TSB Capital Advisors arranging the new floating-rate loan.

DEVELOPMENT: Park7 Group and PGIM break ground on 804 beds. A joint venture between Park7 Group and PGIM has broken ground on an 804-bed student housing development near the Florida State University campus in Tallahassee. The nine-story project will include 230 units and amenities such as a rooftop pool and terrace, fitness center, and collaborative study lounges. The community is scheduled for completion in fall 2028.

DEVELOPMENT: Subtext expands into Kentucky. Subtext has announced VERVE Lexington, its first project in Kentucky, a 784-bed student housing development next to the University of Kentucky. The project is being developed with Clarion Partners in a qualified opportunity zone, with Brandt Stiles, founding partner and co-CEO of Subtext, saying the community is designed to pair next-to-campus convenience with a high-quality living experience, while Brent Gerst, senior vice president of transactions at Clarion Partners, said the firm sees strong demand for new student housing near UK.

PEOPLE MOVES: PeakMade promotes Sam Soller to Director of Operations Support. PeakMade Real Estate has promoted Sam Soller to director of operations support, where she will lead the firm’s operational support efforts and help improve cross-functional alignment as the company’s portfolio grows.
