NEWS ROUNDUP

FINANCING: Keller Investment Properties secures $718.5 million refinancing for 13-property portfolio. Keller Investment Properties is set to refinance a 13-property portfolio in Utah, Nevada, and Arizona through a $718.5 million CMBS loan. NWL, a Nomura lending entity, will provide the two-year, floating-rate, interest-only financing, with three one-year extension options that could extend maturity to August 2031. Approximately $696.3 million of the proceeds will repay existing debt, while $22.2 million will fund closing costs and reserves.

FINANCING: Scion secures $555.6 million financing for 14-property portfolio. The Scion Group has secured $555.6 million in financing for a 14-property student housing portfolio totaling 4,295 units and 10,454 beds across nine states. Walker & Dunlop arranged the floating-rate, interest-only loan through one of Scion’s existing Fannie Mae credit facilities. The portfolio includes assets in Arizona, Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Texas. Colin Coleman, Brendan Coleman, and Will Baker of Walker & Dunlop arranged the financing, continuing a longstanding relationship between the two firms.

MANAGEMENT: Caliber Living takes over management of 1,178-bed community. Caliber Living has been selected to manage a 1,178-bed student housing community near Santa Fe College in Gainesville following its acquisition by Ivy Capital for an undisclosed price. The property includes 337 units in three- and four-bedroom configurations. Amenities include basketball, tennis, and sand volleyball courts, an outdoor kitchen and grill, a resort-style pool, coworking lounge, 24-hour fitness center, and a social lounge with billiards, ping pong, and shuffleboard.

PEOPLE MOVES: Collegiate Housing Foundation names new VP of compliance. The Collegiate Housing Foundation has hired Kara Lee Partin as vice president of compliance. In the role, she will assist the foundation’s president and executive vice president of project operations with monitoring and fulfilling post-issuance compliance obligations.
