JOINT VENTURE: GTIS announces student housing JV with RISE. GTIS has partnered with RISE, a student housing developer and operator, to develop RISE Oxford Farms, a premium student housing community in Oxford, MS. Located just one mile from campus, the garden-style residential community will feature 216 units and 504 beds, providing students with modern, fully amenitized living options. Casey Chayet, Acquisitions Vice President at GTIS, emphasized the strategic nature of the development, stating, "We are excited to partner with RISE on this strategic development, capitalizing on the strength of the Oxford student housing market and the enrollment trends surrounding SEC schools. RISE CEO Ryan Holmes highlighted the importance of the collaboration, saying, "Our partnership with GTIS underscores our shared vision of bringing high-quality, modern housing to students in high-demand markets. RISE Oxford Farms will set a new standard for student living in Oxford, offering thoughtfully designed residences and resort-style amenities tailored to the needs of Ole Miss students."

DEVELOPMENT: Construction at SDSU dormitories begins. Construction has officially begun on a joint student housing project between Imperial Valley College (IVC) and San Diego State University (SDSU) Imperial Valley. Scheduled for completion by Fall 2026, the $17 million project will feature 40 single- and double-occupancy rooms at SDSU Imperial Valley’s Calexico campus, offering affordable housing to students from both institutions. “SDSU Imperial Valley is a core part of our SDSU community, and adding accessible student housing further demonstrates our commitment to supporting the needs and experiences of the students in this region,” said SDSU President Adela de la Torre. Guillermina Gina Nuñez-Mchiri, Dean of SDSU Imperial Valley, emphasized the project's impact, stating, “This housing will open new doors for students and help them thrive in a campus environment.”

DEVELOPMENT: Tiffin University chooses Siegel to design residence hall. Tiffin University has appointed the architectural firm Siegel to design a new multi-phase residence hall development on its campus in Tiffin, OH. The project is planned to offer approximately 450 beds and will feature shared amenities such as retail spaces, lounges, study areas, dining options, and laundry facilities. Siegel is collaborating with the university to gather student feedback to inform the final design. The development is scheduled to be executed in two phases, with the first phase expected to be completed by fall 2027 and the second phase by fall 2028.

FINANCING: Tremont provides $31.2 million acquisiton loan. Tremont Realty Capital, a division of Boston-based investment firm RMR Group, has provided a $31.2 million bridge loan for the acquisition of The Lodge, a 696-bed student housing community in San Marcos, TX. The 258-unit property serves students at Texas State University and features one- to four-bedroom units. Walker & Dunlop arranged the floating-rate loan through Tremont on behalf of the sponsor, Palladius Capital Management.

FINANCING: Pearlmark provides loan for 534-bed property. Pearlmark has provided a mezzanine loan for the acquisition of Midtown at WKU, a 534-bed student housing community adjacent to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. Eagle Realty Group supplied the senior loan on behalf of the borrower, ABCampus. Greg Young of Colliers Mortgage arranged the financing.
