M&A: Bridgepoint to acquire Kayne Anderson Real Estate in $1.39 billion deal. Bridgepoint Group has agreed to acquire Kayne Anderson Real Estate in a $1.39 billion cash-and-stock transaction, marking the London-based investment firm's entry into the U.S. real estate market. The acquisition includes Kayne Anderson Real Estate’s $22 billion portfolio, spanning the student housing, senior housing, medical office, and light industrial sectors. Upon closing, expected by the end of 2026 pending shareholder and regulatory approvals, the business will operate as Kayne Bridgepoint. Al Rabil, Co-Founder and CEO of Kayne Anderson Real Estate, will remain in his current role, while firm employees will become shareholders in Bridgepoint.

DISPOSITION: CBRE arranges sale of 516-bed asset. CBRE has arranged the sale of The 2900, a 516-bed student housing property in Norman, Oklahoma. CBRE’s Jaclyn Fitts, Casey Schaefer, William Vonderfecht, Carson Ford, Brad Peters, and Victoria Langston.

DEVELOPMENT: Gilbane and CBRE begin leasing 703-bed asset. Gilbane Development and CBRE Investment Management have launched leasing for Zaya, a 703-bed student housing community under construction in Gainesville, Florida. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2027 and will feature 352 units with bed-to-bath parity. Residents will have access to amenities including three courtyards, study rooms on every floor, a coworking lounge, rooftop resort-style pool, pickleball court, clubhouse, 24-hour fitness center, yoga studio, and indoor sauna.

DEVELOPMENT: Up Campus set to open 325-bed community in Ohio. Up Campus Student Living is preparing to open Blume on 16th, a 325-bed student housing community near Ohio State University, ahead of the Fall 2026 semester. The five-story development features 74 apartment and townhouse units with floorplans ranging from two to six bedrooms, including duplexes and townhomes.
