NEWS ROUNDUP

DEVELOPMENT: Core Spaces breaks ground on 2,201-bed asset in Texas. Core Spaces has broken ground on Hub College Station, a 2,201-bed student housing community adjacent to Texas A&M University. Austin Pagnotta, Managing Director of Student Housing Acquisitions at Core Spaces, said the project marks the company's first development in College Station and its first ground-up student housing project in Texas, highlighting the opportunity to deliver an amenity-rich community while benefiting from construction efficiencies at scale. Construction is being led by Treehouse Construction, a joint venture between Core Spaces and Findorff Construction, with Antunovich Associates serving as architect, interior design led by Core’s in-house team under Karen Herold in partnership with Antunovich Interiors, and Pacific Life providing project financing. The community is expected to open ahead of the 2028–2029 academic year.

DISPOSITION: CBRE arranges sale of 635-bed asset. CBRE has arranged the sale of The Dillon, a 635-bed student housing property in Bloomington, Indiana. CBRE’s Jaclyn Fitts, Casey Schaefer, William Vonderfecht, Carson Ford, Brad Peters, and Victoria Langston.

DEVELOPMENT: Landmark breaks ground on 656-bed community. Landmark Properties and an affiliate of Paceline Equity Partners have broken ground on The Standard at Kennesaw, a 656-bed off-campus student housing community. The development will feature 157 units in studio- to six-bedroom floorplans and is scheduled for completion ahead of the 2028–2029 academic year. Landmark Construction, the in-house general contractor for Landmark Properties, is leading construction, while Niles Bolton Associates is serving as architect and Eberly & Associates as structural engineer.

DEVELOPMENT: Landmark and CrossHarbor to develop 1,002-bed asset. A JV between Landmark Properties and CrossHarbor Capital has acquired a 2.6-acre site and will immediately begin construction on The Mark Eugene, a 1,002-bed student housing community in Eugene, Oregon. Scheduled for delivery ahead of the 2028–2029 academic year, the project represents the first phase of a larger development that will ultimately deliver 2,275 beds, with Landmark Properties developing the second phase separately. JLL arranged both the land acquisition and construction financing, with Mike Brady, Stephen VanLeer, Tom Kirschbraun, Sam Tarter, and Charlie Watson leading the advisory team. Additional project partners include ESG Architecture & Design as architect, KPFF Consulting Engineers as civil engineer, and Landmark Construction as general contractor.
