NEWS ROUNDUP

DISPOSITION: Newmark sells 476 beds. Newmark has successfully arranged the sale of 900 Factory, a 476-bed property in Logan, UT. Ryan Lang, Jack Brett, Ben Harkrider, Mallory Rodriguez, Hope Brunner, Annarose Childress, Daley Heller, John Clark, Ben Roelke, Ian Walker, Trent Houchin and Jeff Barnwell are part of Newmark’s student housing team.

DEVELOPMENT: LV Collective and Culpepper Realty break ground on Texas project. LV Collective and Culpepper Realty have officially broken ground on a new student housing development at in College Station, TX. Scheduled to open in 2027, the project will feature 316 units, 952 beds, 6,335 square feet of retail space, and a full range of amenities focused on wellness, academics, and community. Key partners include Kennedy Wilson (financing), ANDRES Construction Services (GC), OZ Architecture, Variant Collaborative (interior design), Ironwood Design Group (landscape), and engineers Kimley-Horn and VSM2. The project is designed with future Texas A&M students in mind. John Culpepper of Culpepper Realty and Jonathan Reyes of LV Collective expressed great enthusiasm for this project.

PEOPLE MOVES: Michaels welcomes new EVP. The Michaels Organization has named Genevieve Bauer as EVP of Management Operations, positioning her to succeed Michaels Management President Kimberlee Schreiber, who will retire in two years. Bauer brings extensive experience across market-rate, affordable, student, and military housing, most recently serving as COO at MAXX Properties. She previously held senior roles at Balfour Beatty Communities and WinnCompanies. Bauer will work closely with Schreiber and the leadership team to oversee property operations nationwide. COO Matt Sullivan praised Schreiber’s 15-year tenure, during which Michaels grew by over 30,000 units and expanded into four new states.

AWARD: The Preiss Company Senior VP receives recognition. Whitney Kidd, Senior VP of Innovation and Technology at The Preiss Company, has been recognized as a 2025 Woman of Influence in the PropTech Executive / Innovator category by GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum. The honor highlights her leadership in advancing technology within the real estate sector, including AI integration, centralized data intelligence, and the launch of IRIS Technologies—Preiss’s in-house tech subsidiary.
