NEWS ROUNDUP

ACQUISITION: PGIM and Fetner buy New York asset for $64 million. PGIM and Fetner Properties acquired a 127-unit multifamily property in the Bronx for $64 million, or about $503,937 per unit and $263 per square foot. The seller was Columbia University, with Aaron Weaver listed on the sell side, and the transaction was brokered by Newmark’s Eric Roth, Adam Spies, Brett Siegel, and Tyler Signora. The property totals 242,697 square feet.

DEVELOPMENT: Gilbane wins approval for $350 million partnership. Gilbane Development has secured approval from Western Kentucky University’s Board of Regents for Elevate WKU, a $350 million public-private partnership to redevelop the university’s residential portfolio. The financing is expected to close in May.

DEVELOPMENT: C1 Development plans new student housing project near LSU. C1 Development is planning a new student housing project along the Burbank Drive corridor in Baton Rouge, near Louisiana State University. The development will include a mix of two-story boutique cottage and townhome-style buildings along with three-story garden-style units, targeting the nearby student population.

PEOPLE MOVES: GSL promotes Global Chief Revenue & Growth Officer. GSL has elevated Thiago Alves to global chief revenue and growth officer as the company continues its international expansion and reshapes its leadership structure to support growth across markets. Founder and CEO Tim Daplyn said the appointment strengthens the global revenue leadership needed for GSL’s next phase of expansion, while Alves said his focus will be on building a stronger global revenue engine and a scalable, high-performing commercial organization.
