NEWS ROUNDUP

DISPOSITION: RISE sells 768 beds. RISE has sold Eagle Landing, a 768-bed student housing community in Daytona Beach, Florida. Reliant Group Management acquired the property, whereas Walker & Dunlop secured the financing. The extended deal team featured key players from Walker & Dunlop, RISE, Reliant, and others, including:
Chris Epp, Matthew Chase, Craig Miller, Holden Penn, Ben Sarna, Sarah Foronda, Naomi Bludworth, Will Baker, Mike Shropshire, Doug McDaniel, William Shell, Mark Grace, Jeffrey Burns, S. John Montakab, Greg Hunter, Evan Bolinski, Ryan Holmes, Courtney Gordon, Kristy Anderson, and Caskie Collet.

DISPOSITION: TSB Realty arranges sale of 330-bed community. Nimes Real Estate has acquired Columbia Lofts, a 170-unit, 330-bed student housing community adjacent to the University of South Carolina campus. The deal was brokered by TSB Realty, with TSB Capital Advisors securing acquisition financing for the buyer. The seller was not disclosed. TSB’s Randall Calvert described Columbia Lofts as a “pedestrian Power Four property” with value-add upside, citing potential for targeted renovations to further boost performance. Michael Orsak, Managing Director at Nimes, called the deal a strategic fit.

DISPOSITION: GREA brokers sale of 492 beds. GREA has brokered the sale of Reserve at Carrollton, a 492 bed community in Carrollton, Georgia. GREA’s Kenneth Wellar, Taylor Brown, Chandler Brown, Cory Sams, Steffan Ramos, and Taylor Walsh handled the transaction.

DEVELOPMENT: SC State to build $50 million dorm. South Carolina State University is moving forward with a new 500-bed residence hall on its Orangeburg campus, backed by $50 million in federal bonds. The 88,700-square-foot facility will feature a fitness center, computer lab, study space, and a canteen. Construction is set to begin in spring 2026, with the dorm expected to open in fall 2027.
