NEWS ROUNDUP

ACQUISITION: Monument Square acquires LSU-area student housing. Monument Square Investment Group and JDI Realty have acquired Maison Burbank, a 532-bed student housing property near Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. The joint venture plans immediate capital improvements, including new roofing and repairs to drive aisles and parking areas. Colliers’ Sean Baird, Jonathan Holt, and Cole Cusmano handled the transaction.

DEVELOPMENT: Capstone Development completes Colorado student housing project. Capstone Development Partners and the Colorado School of Mines have completed Village at Mines Park, a 1,058-bed student housing community on the university’s campus in Golden.

DEVELOPMENT: Fountain Residential proposes office-to-student housing conversion. Fountain Residential Partners has proposed converting a seven-story Park Tower office building in Long Beach into student housing, creating 149 residential suites with up to 593 beds while retaining the building’s glass exterior and 364 parking spaces.

PEOPLE MOVES: PeakMade promotes new director. PeakMade has promoted Sarah Sugerman to director of learning and operations integrations. Senior vice president Sandra Barfield praised Sugerman as a “highly respected” team member and recent recipient of the Corporate Partner of the Year award.
