NEWS ROUNDUP

DISPOSITION: Walker & Dunlop brokers sale of 177 beds. Walker & Dunlop has arranged the sale of Garner Crossing, a 177-bed student housing property in Norman, Oklahoma. Built in 2019 and renovated in 2022, the 43-unit community offers one- to six-bedroom floorplans near the University of Oklahoma. Clear Rock Capital Partners and RREAF Holdings sold the asset to an undisclosed buyer. Chris Epp, Holden Penn, Craig Miller, Matthew Chase, Ben Sarna, Sarah Foronda, and Naomi Bludworth led the transaction for Walker & Dunlop.

DEVELOPMENT: Toll Brothers and Davis Cos. open 680-bed complex. Toll Brothers Campus Living and The Davis Cos. have opened Aperture, a 204-unit, 680-bed student housing community in Orlando, Florida. The $50 million project, funded by TD Bank, is located less than 2 miles from the University of Central Florida. The five-story complex includes furnished studios to four-bedroom units, plus amenities such as a pool with mini Jumbotron, two-story fitness center, e-sports lounge, and study spaces.

DEVELOPMENT: Landmark and Manulife open 890 beds. Landmark Properties and Manulife Investment Management have opened The Standard at Four Corners, an 890-bed student housing community in Storrs, Connecticut—the first purpose-built student development in the area in over a decade. Backed by a $122.5M loan from Wells Fargo, the 392-unit complex includes affordable housing and 14,500 sq. ft. of retail space.

DEVELOPMENT: Stratus completes and leases 60-bed student housing near USC. Stratus Development Group has completed and fully leased Pickens Corner, a 60-bed student housing community near the University of South Carolina. The Columbia, South Carolina property features upscale three-bedroom, 3.5-bath townhomes with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and recessed lighting.
