DEVELOPMENT: Landmark and Manulife open 833 beds. Landmark Properties and Manulife Investment Management have delivered The Mark Knoxville, an 833-bed student housing project near the University of Tennessee. Designed by BKV Group with Landmark Construction as GC, the property offers fully furnished studios to five-bed units, a rooftop pool and clubhouse, pickleball court, 25,000-sf courtyard, and private shuttle service.

DEVELOPMENT: Subtext opens 741-bed tower in Michigan. Subtext has opened VERVE Ann Arbor, a 12-story, 741-bed student housing development near the University of Michigan. Delivered in partnership with FrontRange Capital and Kayne Anderson Real Estate, the project includes 217 units, a rooftop pool, and a Misfit Society Coffee Club on the ground floor. Webster Bank led the financing, with WDG Architecture, ESG Architecture & Design, and Brinkmann Constructors on the project team.

PEOPLE MOVES: Munizer taps new Director of Asset Management. Muinzer has appointed Kelly Janisch as director of asset management, tasking her with overseeing asset-level business plans, revenue growth, and strategic improvements across the firm’s national portfolio. CEO Marc Muinzer praised Janisch’s 17+ years of institutional real estate experience as key to driving value creation and performance.

PEOPLE MOVES: PeakMade appoints new President. PeakMade Real Estate has named Jonathan Tucker as its new president. Reporting to CEO Bob Clark, Tucker will oversee strategy across sales, marketing, shared services, and operations for the firm’s student housing, multifamily, and build-to-rent divisions. He brings 28 years of real estate experience, most recently serving as EVP at Cortland. Clark highlighted Tucker’s leadership as key to PeakMade’s future growth.
